Janki and Sengptr privacy
Janki uses the Sengptr Chrome extension to work with the ChatGPT account already signed in within your own browser. The extension never asks for your password, reads browser cookies, or sends a browser profile to Janki.
What happens to your material
Janki reads selected PDF and PPTX files in your browser. For scanned PDF pages, it also recognizes text in your browser using English OCR. It sends relevant text excerpts as prompts to ChatGPT through the extension, and the extension returns ChatGPT responses to the Janki page. ChatGPT may retain the resulting conversations under your account. Janki does not upload the original file or rendered pages to its server or store the extracted text on its server.
Research and exports
Janki sends short topic search queries to its Vercel research function. That function searches English Wikipedia and, when configured by the site owner, Brave Search. It returns source titles, URLs, and excerpts to your browser. CSV export sends the edited cards to Janki's Vercel export function, which returns a downloadable file; the function does not intentionally save the cards. The hosting provider may process request data and operational logs as part of delivering these functions.
Extension access
The extension connects only to the Janki website origin it was built for and to chatgpt.com. It opens ChatGPT tabs, reads the visible model picker and response, and sends your prompts to ChatGPT after you approve the site. It stores your website approval choice in Chrome extension storage. You can revoke approval by clicking the extension icon. Closing or uninstalling the extension does not delete conversations from ChatGPT; delete them in ChatGPT if desired.
